Preparation

Research Employers in Attendance

Review the list of employers attending the Career Expo, or use the quick employer list if you are unable to log in. Sort through and view their industry, website, city, and whether they have part-time or full-time opening.

Glassdoor is an excellent website to find out what current and former employees think of their employer. Get company specific feedback on salary, interviewing, and what it is like to work there. Glassdoor has recently expanded to offer job posting and company profiles. Normally you must set up an account, but HFC students and alumni can now receive free unlimited access.

Get Professional Dress

Professional dress is required for entrance to the Career Expo. If you need professional dress for the Career Expo or an upcoming interview, check out the selection in the Career Services Office. We have ties, blouses, shoes, and numerous men's and women’s gently used suits to share! Come to the Career Services Office located right next to Counseling (A-117) and try one on, or call 313-845-9618 for more information.
