Internships

Posting an Internship Position

If you have already completed the job description for your internship, and it is a paid position, simply sign in to https://joinhandshake.com/employers/HFC Handshake. Go to the Jobs tab and post as you would a normal position. Be sure to include the end date or duration of the internship in your posting.

Additional Help

If you are unsure about whether an internship is the type of position you are looking to fill, refer to our chart that describes the differences between direct hire, internships, and co-op positions. If you still have questions, feel free to contact the Career Services Office or go to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) website. They have internship guidelines that will help you determine compensation, supervision, scope of the position, and other helpful details.

If you are not familiar with putting together an internship program, view the Internship Toolkit compiled by the Michigan Career Educators and Employers Association (MCEEA). This contains valuable information for setting up your program.

In addition to posting your position on HFC Handshake, the State of Michigan has an excellent statewide job board for internships. You may want to post your position with them at Intern in Michigan.
